Progs?

Found a new word - progs. First time I have seen it used and it was on the American Thinker blog in the piece The Left Defends Its Advocate of Violence. Which is a must see read.

But for the moment, what are progs? I am asuming that that the writer was using it as a enduring term being short for progressive. I googled it and this what I found:

prog
vb progs, progging, progged
(intr) Brit slang or dialect to prowl about for or as if for food or plunder
n
1. Brit slang or dialect food obtained by begging
2. (Cookery) Canadian dialect a Newfoundland word for food  [of unknown origin]
Yep, that sounds like a progressive - a begger and/or plunderer, agitating to take from others hard work, forgetting that charity comes  from the heart not at from the wrong side of of gun.

Frances Fox Piven and her push for violence by the left is what the The Left Defends Its Advocate of Violence by Arlen Williams, like I said a must read.
